Body Toning Exercises




Performing leg exercises will give you a strong lower body which contributes to your overall core and body strength.

Muscles in the upper leg work with muscles in the lower back to stabilize the hips, keeping them aligned and working the way they should. These muscles include the Quadriceps group, Hip Flexors, Hamstrings and Glutes. Other leg muscles include the Adductors, Tensor Fasciae Latae, and Illiopsoas.

All these muscles work together to move the hip through flexion, extension and rotational movements. They also control movement at the knee and ankle with the help of tendons and ligaments. Keeping your legs strong will have a positive effect in every activity that you do from climbing the stairs to climbing a mountain!

The muscles of the legs all work together to perform each movement and if any one of those muscles are tight or inihibited, you need to address it to avoid imbalances in the body. A CPT could help you to identify those imbalances and work with you to correct them. As with any activity, warm up the muscles before performing these exercises.
