Whatever your goal, when going for sexy sleek arms resistance exercises can be extremely helpful. To get a nicely toned arm there is no single exercise that will be the cure all. Each one of the muscles need to be shaped, therefore you need to train from different angles and at different intensities.
Muscles of the ArmThe muscles of the arms are the biceps group and triceps group. These muscles are smaller than muscles of the chest and back moving in a single joint motion of flexion and extension. The biceps group includes the bicep brachii (long and short head) and the brachialis. They originate at the anterior shoulder and attach medially just past the elbow joint. The bicep allows us to bend at the elbow, pulling the lower arm toward us. It also assists in overhead pulling motions such as a pull up. The triceps group includes the tricep brachii (long and medial head). They originate at the scapula and attach at the elbow. Allowing the arm to straighten, the triceps extend the arm at the elbow. These muscles are on the back of the arm and help when pushing yourself up out of a chair.
