Nutrition for Women

Healthy eating is the key to your success.

By eating the right foods you are filling your body with the nutrients and energy that it needs. Unlike eating junk food, you feel energized when eating fruits and vegetables.

So how do you know if you are eating the right foods?

One way to know that you are eating healthy is if the food you have is in its natural form. Eat food as you would find in nature, not something from a box that lasts on the shelves for weeks.

Variety in your diet is another way to stay healthy. Variety ensures that your body is getting all the nutrients that it needs daily. Fruits and vegetables are best when eaten in the season they are grown. When eaten in their season, they contain the highest amounts of nutrients they can provide.

Below is a list of fruits and vegetables in their seasons:

Bell PeppersGrapesBeetsCabbage

Serving size is another consideration to be made. When it comes to fruits and vegetables, you can eat as much as you want. This is not the case with other foods. Because fruits and vegetables are low calorie and high nutrient, it is difficult to eat too much. Keep in mind that when discussing eating as much as you want, there is nothing added to flavor the vegetables and fruit such as dips, butter, salt or sugar. Raw foods or slightly steamed is the way to go. Make sure not to overcook your vegetables because the nutrients leak out when cooked too much.
