Healthy Eating Tips

Nutrition plays an important role in our health and fitness levels.

Without proper eating habits the body does not respond as efficiently, it does not recover as quickly and a lack of proper diet can prove to have detrimental effects on our health.

Balanced eating habits are important. It helps to ensure you provide yourself with a variety of nutrients. Eating fruits and vegetables in their season ensures that you get the most nutrient rich product that tastes better and is better for you.

Meal planning is the most effective way to stick to a diet but it seems to be the hardest thing for people to do. A lack of preperation usually ends in a poor food choice and last minute decisions. Don't let this happen to you!

Planning ahead is as simple as

1, 2, 3.

1. Pre-plan your menu. Know what you are going to eat for the week or at least for the next 3 days. When you know what you want make a list of ingredients that you need to buy and how much of each.

2. Stick to your list. Don't sabotage your diet by adding as you go. If you stick to the list you won't be bringing home the temptations that kill your diet.

3. Prepare the food.Once you have the food at home there is prep work to be done. Chop up any veggies that you bought for the week. Store them in ziplocks or tupperware in the fridge and use as you need them. Another helpful idea is to cook up chicken breast ahead of time and pull out pieces when you want them.
